What’s even0's take on MSRP?

What is Market Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)?
It is the price that a manufacturer - or coffee roaster - recommends a retailer sells a product for. This is a suggested price, and retailers are not obligated to sell at the MSRP.
Since day one I activated the trading section under the even0 roof, I've been "obsessively" matching my selling price of overseas items to their local retails (aka MSRP) if not lowered when VIP discounts applies - which means my customers get to buy at a price as if they are buying from overseas brands locally. That says, my price is very likely (if not always) lower than any local markups here in Hong Kong. It’s not a price war, basically, I honor MSRP, and that’s it.
Why do even0 honor MSRP, and why many others don't?
First of all, I cannot speak for others. But when it comes to price strategies, there are many factors involved (e.g. storage, labor, logistics, licenses etc.). As a consumer, it is totally reasonable to not seeing a full picture of costs which involve by maintaining a trading business (of course, that aplies to all different kind of businesses, too!). And as a nano size business owner in this pool, I can also be blindfolded when I try to comment why others make a certain business decision.
But in even0 when it comes to trading, my goal is crispy clear - get my customers the best deal they can. With that said, by no means I will ever control the local retail price with monopoly rights. Instead, with the objective to truly maximize in my customer's interest, I would rather protect and honor the MSRP whenever I obtain a reseller right (exclusive or not).
My philosophy is simple - I sell as if I am the one who is buying. And at night, I can sleep soundly knowing I have done my best to you all.
Lastly - for those who supported along the way, thank you very much! Love ya all!
